The Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, Nalaka Kaluwewa, provided an update today (2025-12-02) regarding the reopening of schools.
He stated at a media briefing that schools in provinces and districts that are not affected by transport issues, communication problems, or power outages will reopen on December 16, after reviewing conditions in each area.
He added that decisions about reopening the other schools will be made soon, following discussions with provincial and district officials. (Source: esana)
