Job Description-Electrician

An Electrician is a trade worker that is tasked with the care, placement, and fix of electrical structures in residential accommodations, business structures, and ventures. Electricians are essential in safety and electrical functions where they are involved with wiring, power breakers, light systems and power distribution networks.

The career field is more than enough in other fields like construction, manufacturing, and maintenance of facilities, in Sri Lanka, and in other countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, alter and repair wires and electric appliances and controls.
  • Interpret and read diagrams and blueprints.
  • Carry out a regular check-up of electrical devices to detect any dangers or malfunctions.
  • Make the local electrical codes and safety met.
  • Keep the maintenance and repair records.
  • Diagnose and offer rectifications to electrical faults.
  • Cooperate with other workers in the construction or technicians on the ground.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Educational Qualifications:

  • Level 3 or higher in Electrical Technology or above in National Vocational Qualification (NVQ).
  • The achievement of a training at a technical college or a qualification as an apprentice.

Experience:

  • Entry-level roles available for freshers; higher positions require 2+ years of experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Electric, wiring, installation, etc.
  • Capability of blueprint and wiring diagram reading
  • Knowledge of equipment such as multimeters, circuit testers, conduit benders

Soft Skills:

  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving
  • Good physical stamina and hand-eye coordination
  • Teamwork and communication

Salary Range
