The government has started providing financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 for the cleaning of flood-damaged houses in the Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretariat Division of the Colombo District.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Finance had stated that the government has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 for the cleaning of houses damaged by the current disaster.
Accordingly, the relevant amount has been provided under the patronage of Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, and it is stated that more than 100 families who have been able to resettle in flood-damaged areas of the Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretariat Division have been provided with financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 for cleaning their houses.
It is further stated that this money is to be provided by the relevant Divisional Secretariats to the people of other Divisional Secretariats that have suffered disasters in the future to clean their homes.
